No visit to Sun Country is complete without a trip to Numurkah. The main street of this quaint rural village is best traversed on foot. You'll be greeted with smiling faces as you pass specialty shops, relaxed eateries, as well as charming gardens, open space, and historical buildings.
Being the centre of a thriving agricultural area, Numurkah is a food lovers' paradise. On offer are a range of wines, hand made cheeses, buffalo meat, cold pressed olive oil, as well as organic honey and almonds. The makers will be as happy to give you a taste, as to tour you around their farms and describe the processes involved.
Nestled in the many smaller towns that surround Numurkah, you'll find antiques and bric-a-brac, great country pubs and authentic country bakeries. You may even spot a koala, kangaroo or rare bird as you travel the surrounding wetlands and forests.
Days can disappear as you indulge in the districts produce. Or you can simply enjoy a round of golf, bowls, or tennis in the sunshine.
