Visit Phillip Island
The Touring Towns

Get up close to little penguins, come face-to-face with snoozing koalas and start your engines as you explore every inch of Phillip Island, less than two hours from Melbourne.

Drop a line

Approach Phillip Island from the San Remo fishing port, picking up fresh seafood from the fishing co-op. Feed the pelicans, or charter a boat and catch your own dinner. Spend a few hours with mates and a fishing line at Newhaven, the first village you come to on the island, and visit Churchill Island, the site of Victoria's first European settlement. Catch a few waves at Cape Woolamai, one of the state's best surf beaches.

Wildlife to wild vehicles

Arrive early for the famous Penguin Parade and explore Cowes. Recharge in the myriad cafés, pubs and restaurants and stock up on supplies and souvenirs. Cool off with a dip at the picturesque north-facing beach. Check out the colonies of seals and learn about local marine life at the Nobbies, before revving your engine at the postcard-perfect Grand Prix circuit.

The Rhyll life

Wander along Rhyll's beach and esplanade area, then stand cheek to furry cheek with inquisitive koalas at the Koala Conservation Centre and spot feathered friends at Rhyll Inlet.
