Kiah Wilderness Tours offers small group kayak tours on a beautiful estuarine river brimming with bird and fish life.
Sandy beaches dot the edges between towering eucalypt forests and green paddocks. Paddling is at your own pace, with a knowledgeable guide pointing out features along the way. The popular morning tour includes a delicious home made muffin or fruit and fresh plunge coffee or special teas, served in a setting of natural beauty on the river bank.
No paddling experience is necessary as the quality kayaks are lightweight and glide along the quiet waters with ease. The operators are qualified flatwater kayak guides and assist all paddlers to ensure they enjoy the entire tour. Kayak slowly along the river, looking for white-bellied sea eagles in the high trees or tiny colourful kingfishers darting past in search of a morsel. Sunscreen, drinking water and binoculars are provided. Bring along a beach towel and be tempted to enjoy a dip in the fresh clean waters.
The tours operate out of private property from a stunning grassy shaded location on the edge of the river, 10 minutes drive south of Eden on the Princes Highway. There is ample parking and the operators are very friendly and welcoming. Group sizes are limited to a minimum of two and maximum of six to ensure paddlers experience the beauty of nature in tranquility.
This new tour has been receiving excellent reviews, with many complimenting the quality of the service, equipment and morning tea.
