Nine Day Coastal & Aquatic Adventure Day Planner

Day 1

Sydney to Jervis Bay (Approx 208km)

(allow 3 hours drive time)

Take a scenic drive through the Royal National Park – the second oldest national park in the world.

Stop at Bald Hill Lookout to admire the breathtaking view of the Pacific Ocean.

Follow the Grand Pacific Drive and across the stunning Sea Cliff Bridge.

Enjoy a relaxing walk along the Blue Mile waterfront path in Wollongong.

Witness spectacular plumes of water at Kiama Blowhole.

At Jervis Bay, walk on the ‘World’s Whitest Sand’ at Hyams Beach

Day 2

Jervis Bay to Batemans Bay (Approx 150km)

Dip into the pristine clean water at Jerivs Bay.

Take a Jervis Bay Wild cruise to see dolphins, seals and even whales during their migration season. 

Spot friendly kangaroos at Pebbly Beach.

Venture out on a kayaking tour with Region X to explore the pristine waterways in this region.

Day 3

Batemans Bay to Merimbula (Approx 170km)

Enjoy a scenic flight South Coast Seaplanes to view the magnificent coastline.

Take a cruise to Montague Island with Island Charters Narooma to visit local wildlife. You can even swim with seals there.

Shop for local food and crafts in the picturesque heritage village of Central Tilba.

Sample a variety of local produce, especially the freshest local seafood.

Join an oyster tour at Merimbula and learn how these delicacies are grown to perfection.

Day 4

Merimbula to Lakes Entrance/Metung (Approx 305km)

Visit Eden’s Killer Whale Museum.

Bushwalk through the diverse wilderness at Ben Boyd national Park.

Hire a boat and cruise around the peaceful waterways between Gipsy Point and Mallacoota.

Hike to Genoa Peak for sunning vistas across forests, lakes and the sea.

Explore secluded ocean beaches at Point Hicks and Cape Conran.

View the 400 million-year-old Buchan Caves’ amazing limestone formations.

Stroll along the waterfront boardwalk and watch sunset at Metung.

Dine in style at one of the many waterside restaurants.

Day 5

Lakes Entrance/Metung to Walhalla (Approx 200km)

Explore Gippsland Lakes with a leisurely cruise, Australia’s largest and one of its most beautiful inland waterways.

Walk the pristine sands of the magnificent Ninety Mile Beach.

Pick up some gears at local supplier shops and go fishing and crab catching along Gippsland Lakes’ many jetties.

Take a ferry to Raymond Island and spot local wild koalas.

Discover Walhalla’s heritage treasures including the Long Tunnel Extended Goldmine, a scenic ride on the Walhalla Goldfields Railway, or just follow the easy Walhalla Tramline Walkway for some picturesque sceneries and postcard views of the village.

Day 6

Walhalla to Wilsons Promontory (Approx 230km)

Travel through the stunning Tarra Bulga National Park and explore the lush tree ferns and waterfalls.

Stop at the charming port towns including Port Albert for some unexpected culinary delight.

Follow one of the many popular walking trails that take you off the beaten path and discover some of the most breathtaking views at Wilson Promontory National Park.

Step onto Squeaky Beach where the white quartz sand literally ‘Squeaks’ under your feet.

Day 7

Wilsons Promontory to Phillip Island (Approx 160km)

Explore country towns and villages in South Gippsland and find distinctive local arts and craft creations.

Join Wildlife Coast Cruises and meet thousands of seals on Australia’s largest seal colony at Phillip Island.

Hit the waves at one of the popular surf beaches at Phillip Island.

Day 8

Phillip Island to Mornington Peninsula (Approx 160km)

Indulge yourself with a memorable lunch at Max’s Restaurant at Red Hill

Explore local farms and pick up some fresh fruits and cheese to enjoy.

Join the evening tour at Moonlit Sanctuary to see some of the rare nocturnal animals.

Day 9

Mornington Peninsula to Melbourne via Geelong & the Bellarine (Approx 130km)

Catch the ferry and admire the beautiful Port Phillip Bay onboard the Searoad Ferries from Sorrento to Queenscliff.

In Geelong, cycle your way around Eastern Park or the Bellarine Rail Trail, a historic steam train line.

Taste your way around the Bellarine Peninsula’s many boutique wineries.

Wander along the inviting waterfront and explore the beautiful botanic gardens in Geelong.

Explore Geelong city’s designer galleries and boutique retailers.

Make your way to Marvellous Melbourne, Australia’s favourite city for cafe culture, fashion, art, sport and an amazing array of cuisine to please any palate.
